A picture may tell a thousand words, but this isn’t the case when it comes to your folio.
Seems like pretty much every young hopeful has a website or online folio these days.
Which is probably wise as it allows people to take a look at your work before meeting you.
Problem is (well I think it’s a problem) all they’re looking at is your work.
What’s wrong with that, you’re probably thinking.
Well in my experience there’s a lot more to a young creative person than their work.
People want to get a feel for you. And your thinking.
How you approach a problem.
What went into the work they’re looking at.
And any stories, problems or background info.
So rather than just putting your work online to speak for itself, why not knock out a paragraph or two to support it.
It’s the closest thing to being there to talk about your work. Even when you’re not.Tweet
