I went up to Canberra this week, for a cocktail party at Parliament House for the launch of Shop Small.
For those of you who don’t know it, Shop Small is a month long initiative to encourage the people of Australia to support their local shops and businesses.
It is a great idea. And a very important one too.
I spent a lot of time at the party talking with politicians about how so many shops were struggling. Mostly because of the internet.
On the plane on the way back to Melbourne I had an idea. Get young creative people to give a local business a helping hand with their marketing.
It could be a flyer. A poster. Help with social media. Or maybe a short film to share on YouTube. In these tough times every little bit helps.
So how ‘bout it?
Wanna get involved and help out a small business?
Of course you’ll be volunteering your services. But you’ll also b giving back to your local community.
And you may even get a piece of work for your folio!Tweet
